Gas

Boiler services

We use our boilers every day of the year, so regular maintenance and annual servicing is key to ensuring a safe and reliable system. Having an efficient boiler also keeps energy consumption down to a minimum.

As part of any boiler service we carry out a check on your carbon monoxide alarm. Carbon monoxide is a poisonous gas produced by incomplete combustion of carbon fuels, and the discreet nature of this gas means it is undetectable without an alarm. We recommend checking this annually.

Landlord Certificate

A Landlord Gas Safety check is a legal requirement which involves an annual inspection on all gas appliances and pipework in the property. The landlord is only responsible for the appliances he provides.

Heating

Under Floor Heating

Under floor heating is a great option for saving energy on heating. There are a number of reasons why this is such a popular installation;

  • Eliminates dust mites from carpets
  • Prevents dust gathering behind radiators and circulating around the room – Ideal for sufferers of respiratory health conditions
  • Helps reduce moisture in the air
  • Requires little or no maintenance

Power Flushing

All radiators build up with black sludge over time, and can eventually restrict water flow or block waterways altogether, resulting in your radiators becoming less efficient or not working at all.

A power flush is a deep clean for the entire heating system. We also install magnetic filters to prevent the build up of sludge in the future.

System Design

A system design is required for optimizing the efficiency of your heating system.

If designed incorrectly or not at all, you can end up with over or under sized components (radiators, boilers etc.), leading to poor energy efficiency that is not suitable for the building structure.

System Controls

System controls are another energy saving option that are great for controlling energy systems that suit each individual need. Without these, a boiler will operate with a limited on or off function.

Options include;

  • Thermostats – Measures the temperature of a room and adjusts the boiler operation accordingly
  • Smart Thermostats – Allows the control of temperature whilst anywhere in the world
  • TRVs (Thermostatic radiator valves) – Allows radiator temperatures to be independently adjusted
  • Programmers – Lets you set different times and temperatures for different days of the week
  • Time Clocks – Turns your boiler on/off at set times
